Boone Tavern Achieves LEED Gold

EOP Architects provided design services for the renovation of the historic Boone Tavern located at College Square on Berea College’s campus. Boone Tavern was built in 1909 and has been a continually operating hotel and restaurant, serving the needs of Berea College, for the last one hundred years. Boone Tavern was recently awarded LEED Gold certification by the U.S. Green Building Council. Boone Tavern is the first LEED certified hotel in Kentucky.

LEED is an internationally recognized green building certification system, providing third-party verification that a building or community was designed and built using strategies aimed at improving performance across all the metrics that matter most: energy savings, water efficiency, CO2 emissions reduction, improved indoor environmental quality, and stewardship of resources and sensitivity to their impacts.
